American Sign Language for Homeschoolers

Nesmith Library in Windham, NH will host a Sign Language Session for children ages 5-11.  Learn what it means to be Deaf.  What is ASL?  Get started learning the 3rd most widely used language in the United States.

Introductory Workshops

 Introduction to Signing with Your Baby Workshop:

Participants will learn all of the basics to communicate through the use of American Sign Language signs. Topics include, when is the best time to start, the benefits of signing, how to incorporate signing in daily activities, and basic signs to begin. Learn ASL vocabulary including food signs, keeping clean signs, animal signs and more! Learn all you need to know to get started!

Try-It Sessions

  Signs & Smiles will be offering Try-It sessions this fall for babies & children and their parents.  Registration required.

Signing Babies — Get started signing with your baby today.  Learn the benefits of signing, when to get started, and new signs every week.  For babies 0-2 yrs and their parents.  TRY IT! Wednesday, 9:30-10:15am on Nov 12th and December 10th
Signing Tots — Every week we will learn more signs according to our theme.  We will read books, play games, do crafts and more all while signing.  This is a parent/child class for ages 2-4.  TRY IT! Wednesday, 10:30-11:15am on Nov 12th and Dec 10th

Family, Food, and Fall Fun!

Learn American Sign Language signs for all the things they are thankful for including family, food, and fall. Children will enjoy crafts, stories, songs, and games focusing on the signs of the season of giving. Have all the benefits of learning a second language while having fun!
Signs of the Holidays

Everyone wants to learn sign language. Here is the chance to learn how to sign along with your favorite holiday carols. Children will have a great time learning signs of the season including Christmas, Hannakah, Kwanzaa, and more. We’ll have a blast learning these signs while singing, reading, and playing. Join the fun this holiday season and learn something new!
