Introduction to Signing with Your Baby Workshop:
Parents and caretakers will learn all of the basics to communicate through the use of American Sign Language signs. Topics include, when is the best time to start, the benefits of signing, how to incorporate signing in daily activities, and basic signs to begin. Learn ASL vocabulary including food signs, keeping clean signs, animal signs and more! Learn all you need to know to get started!
More Signing with Your Baby! Workshop:
This intermediate workshop gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to learn more signs. Participants will learn how to sign with music, books, and play to develop and encourage language skills. By the end of this workshop, parents will be more comfortable with their signing skills and have more resources available to support learning. If you have started signing with your baby and are looking for more.
Classes
Signs & Smiles class offer fun, educational, and interactive ways to engage children using sign language. Each session includes time to build ASL vocabulary along with learning songs, games, and storytelling. Class revolve around themes so there is always something new to learn! Some participants enjoy bringing their children when others prefer to learn in an adult setting. Each site coordinator can decide what is right for their participants. Classes can be modified for parents only, parent/tot, or geared to child learners.
Private group classes include instructor coming to your home or group site, 6 weeks of instruction and weekly handouts. $72/participant. Minimum of 5 required.

Educator Options
Educators Workshop: Signing in the Classroom Learn the benefits of adding sign language as a part of your classroom environment. Sign language can help you manage your class, increase students’ language skills, add diversity, maintain attention, and add a whole lot of fun to your lessons! In this workshop, you will learn basic signs to add to everyday activities and strategies to get started signing in your class!
Sing & Sign in School! This program is offered to preschool, kindergarten, and childcare programs. Signs & Smiles presenter, Mary Buckley, would visit your class on a monthly basis with new signs for your students to learn and play with. The staff can learn along with the children and reinforce the signs throughout the month. This program offers 10 visits throughout the school year. Each lesson is 30 minutes and may include reading, signing, singing, and more for classes up to 25 students. Contracted Services Direct instruction is available to childcare, preschool, kindergarten, or private groups.
